Benchmarking
I wanted to try something a bit different for benchmarking.
I wanted to test the revised core of the CPU and not simply the additional
50MHz of the new Giga-Duron. To do this, I took an Athlon, Duron (Spitfire),
Duron (Morgan) and ran them at 933MHz with a 133MHz FSB. Why 933MHz? Well,
that is the maximum speed my Duron 750 will hit. I ran each benchmark three
times and took the average. Let's get to the results.

Not a dramatic change here but we do see that the Morgan gets
a bit of a speed boost due to the new optimizations. This could be the Increased
L1 TLB in action.

Here we see a nice increase in memory performance. A definite
sign of the improved Data Prefetch features. An increase of about 8% in ALU
isn't bad at all.

Cinebench is a 3D rendering benchmark utility. I do not know
if it is SSE optimized so I am unsure where the performance increase comes
from. It is interesting to see that the T-Bird scores better than the Classic
Duron but the Morgan surpasses even the T-Bird and it's larger L2 cache in
Shading benchmarks. Cinebench is very processor intensive so the improved
core certainly helps here.
